Project Management Concepts

Our "Project Management Concepts" course is based upon the same original material as the Projects Management Institute's Guide to the Project Management Body of KnowledgeTM (PMBOK GuideTM).  The Project Management Institute is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to advancing the state-of-the-art in the field of project management.

The Process Groups RelationshipsDescription: The course examines the five Project Management Groups and their process relationships to nine functional areas. (See figure.) The course investigates the thirty-seven processes that cover the spectrum of actions required to successfully manage a project.

Recommended for: This introductory course is intended for the "novice", or the experienced project manager who wants to increase their knowledge of the fundamentals of project management. Additionally, it is an excellent pre-requisite for project management software classes such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc. The course is recommended for project managers, program managers, project team members, or anyone working with projects – simple, complex, or in between.

Benefits: Course attendees will gain practical knowledge in understanding the complexities of project management and techniques to manage projects more effectively. The extensive examination of the proven principles enables course graduates to benchmark and improve personal skills.
